Peace,

Despite the obvious hypocrisy of the early champions of freedom in America (really Euro-American freedom from the British and other European colonizing forces since freedom of all human beings (native americans and afro-americans) did not take place), we should look at the context of a society that would be conducive to such strong ideas of freedom. Freedom on the most part in this context means independence and early Euro-Americans were completely independent from Britain economically. This paved the way for the call to freedom as a whole. If the early Euro-Americans had been depedent on Britain for their needs such a movement would have never taken place.

This attitude continued strong in the US due to the agricultural independence of most of Euro-American society. The point here is that when people can feed themslves and provide for themselves when needed without depending on anyone or government the message of freedom hits home in a much more meaningful way. But where that independence is no longer existent the message of freedom doesn't ring as loud, but rather restriction to sustain the dependencies that sustain "normal" life.

To give an example the Saudi family achieved the control of most of the peninsula by inviting those families and tribes that would prove a threat to live under the auspices of the Saudi family, luring them in with gifts and luxury until they had completely given up their indpendence, which is what made them a possible threat

So I think we should all consider that the more dependent we become on the provisions of government and hopped up economies the more we allow our freedoms to be imposed upon. Independence brings about a general tolerance and respect for freedom, but dependence easily lends to the restriction of rights through the manipulation of lies and rumors or possibly even real threats to the system of subsidies that dependent individuals need to survive and live "good" or "normal" lives.

So in any community/society that we build or we have a say in independence should be a priority and business done on the principle of free-trade and not the idea of trade that needs systems of dependence and the ultimatum of "trade or die."

Godbless,
Quranist
