Yusuf Ali 6:75. So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth, that he might (with understanding) have certitude.

Yusuf Ali 6:76. When the night covered him over, He saw a star: He said: "This is my Lord." But when it set, He said: "I love not those that set."

Yusuf Ali 6:77. When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray."

Yusuf Ali 6:78. When he saw the sun rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all)." But when the sun set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.

Yusuf Ali 6:79. "For me, I have set my face, firmly and truly, towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah."

Prophet Abraham (PBU) is the founder of Islam:
He coined the term Muslim
He is called the Model Muslim Hanifa
He is called the spritual father of Believers
He is the only person God termed as his Khaleel (close friend)
God says is Quran that whoever leaves his way (Millat-e-Ibrahim) he or she befools himself

His Islam is based on rational judgment (reasoning)

It is unfortunate that Muslims as a nation left his way and took the blind following of other beside God. No doubt that they rate at the bottom of every human development index.

Those who have the knowledge must raise this as a social issue that blind following has no place in Islam. We must question ourselves and our traditions.

Quote:

I believe the above two points are incorrect.

Prophet Abraham pbuh is the father of the whole house of Israel. The house of Israel is the house of Islam, a Lighthouse (knowledge).

Allah showed him the POWER and the LAWS of the heavens and the earth. This would have turned him into a scientists prophet rather than a philospher prophet, no?

Thanks, yes, very interesting. But still, here Quran says that he was given clear insight into the functioning of the universe. This comes under the subject of science, for it is not any kind of philosophy concerning the functioning of the universe but a demonstration of facts when you are actually been shown how it all works. Prophet Abraham (AS) therefore knew all about cause and effect concerning the constellation of stars, all about elementary energy etc.. all about science. Qur'an confirms that when he had a look at the stars he knew how to read them, he knew the power of every heavenly or earthly thing. It is more than a philosophy about them when you have certitude, no?

Please refer to specific verses.

Also, I would like to know if anyone has performed any studies related to the nature of "knowledge" related to Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, David, Solomon, Locoman, Khizr, Dhulqanain, Joseph, etc.

Why, he obviously read what was written in the stars because after he had a glance at the stars he said I am sick. Why, Allah has said in Quran that the truth is written in the heavens and on earth an within ourselves and that Abraham (AS) knew because Allah had bestowed this knowledge on him.

The context of the verses don't lend themselves to the meaning you are are getting. That's why I was asking.

Why? The context of the verse makes clear that his father, his people, stood against Abraham. It surely hurt (broke) his heart to see his own father, his people, worshipping many gods, no? So surely Abraham was sick at heart due to his/their refusal to worship Allah alone, and when he took a glance at the stars, they confirmed he was going to suffer pain. No?
